We also would like to hear from you in the show description. Moving Forward is a link to reach out to us with ideas you'd either like us to explore or maybe a mailbag question you would like us to read on air. Or Also, there's a way to be a guest on the show. If you're interested, just hit that link. It is super super easy. Do you know what else is easy? Well, unfortunately, it's so easy to get caught up in the big, ambitious goals that we set for ourselves. But what if I told you that the most significant transformations in your life as an educator this fall won't come from a monumental change, but instead it will come from a small, consistent habit. Today we're going to talk about the power of the one minute habit and how these tiny, easy to integrate practices can have a huge impact on your well being and your professional growth. So why are these one minute habits so powerful for educators? It's all about consistency. The big changes we try to make often fail because they just require too much willpower and energy that we just don't have at the end of a long, star school day. Small habits, however, are almost effortless, and then they build on each other, creating this ripple effect of positive change. Think of it as a form of professional self care that you can actually stick with. You might think, what can I possibly accomplish in just one minute? But the truth is the goal isn't the immediate accomplishment, it's the building of the habit. James Clear, the author of Atomic Habit, says that true behavior change is to identify change. The one minute habit isn't just about getting a task done. It's about becoming the kind of person who is organized, connected and prepared. Consider implementing a one minute classroom reset at the end of the day, where maybe you just take sixty seconds to straighten up your desk or wipe down a surface. This simple act of putting things back in their place can make a huge difference for your mental state when you walk in the next morning. You could also adopt a one minute positive connection habit where you pick one student each day and have a genuine, non academic conversation with them. This small investment of time builds powerful relationships that can transform your classroom climate. Lastly, try a one minute brain dump before you leave for the day, where you write down all of your top maybe your top three tasks for tomorrow. Just this quick mental exercise clears your head of clutter and allows you to leave work at work, giving you a fresh start the next morning. Our most profound growth this fall won't come from a grand gesture, but from the cumulative effect of small, consistent actions. By adopting simple one minute habits like the classroom reset, or the positive student connection, or maybe even that daily brain DMP, we are investing in our own well being and professional satisfaction. Just remember, it's not about the magnitude of the change, but the consistency of the effort. Thank you for listening, listeners, I hope you have a wonderful Friday, and of course I hope you have an even better weekend ahead of you, because I know that you have earned it. We'll be back again here next week with more on your Morning Boost. Thanks for listening. We will talk with you again next week. That concludes another episode of your Morning Boost.
