Welcome to your Morning Boost, your daily leadership advice to help you lead your school community, brought to you by AWB Education and sponsored by Grundmeier Leader Services, where together we are transforming education, one leader at a time. Now, here's your host, Adam Bush. Welcome to your Morning Boost and a very happy Tuesday to everybody out there. This is our daily dose of inspiration and actionable advice designed specifically for school leaders. We've got a great topic lined up today and it's all about leadership through lived experiences, and it's something that can truly transform the culture of our schools. So how can we move beyond the office and truly connect with our staff and students on a human level. We're going to dive into how to walk a mile in their shoes and how we can build profound trust and give us more authentic understanding of day to day realities our community faces. So let's get to it now. Stepping out of our administrative roles and into the experiences of our school community is one of the most powerful ways for us to lead. It's about more than just being visible, it's about being present and authentically engaged. For instance, consider taking on a task we haven't done in years, like subbing for a class, will be reminded of the energy it takes to manage a classroom in the immediate challenges our teachers face. Or instead of always leading a meeting, let's simply tried attending one and taking notes. By doing this, we can observe the dynamics, hear the concerns and successes from the ground level, and gain a perspective we might miss from the head of the table. This isn't just about gaining information. It's about showing that we value the work and perspective of everyone in our school. Authentic engagement. It's about seeking to understand before being understood. The legendary leadership expert Stephen Covey often spoke about this emphasize that true influence comes from a place of deep empathy and shared experience. I recently had the chance to experience this firsthand. Last week, our teaching staff led our professional development sessions, and instead of leading the charge, I made it a point to simply participate. And I'm going to tell you it was incredible. The energy in the room was completely different because everyone felt a sense of ownership. I got to see the amazing expertise and creativity of our teachers on full display. I was just another learner taking notes and engaging in the discussions. It was so refreshing and a powerful reminder of how much we can learn from stepping back and letting others lead. It's these kinds of small, intentional acts that can really strengthen the bonds within our school communities. Thank you for listening. I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday. We'll be back again tomorrow with another dose of your morning boost. But until that time, again, thank you for listening, and we will talk with you again tomorrow.
