Happy Mont everybody, and as we begin this new week, it's also International dot Day, which is a fun, creative celebration of Peter H. Reynold's book Bad which encourages everyone to make their mark on the blow. It's a wonderful reminder that every person has something unique to contribute and that great things can come from even the smallest acts of courage and creativity. A perfect thing for us today as leaders. Today we're going to dive into a powerful framework of school improvement, and that is the Five Reliability Schools for HRSMEN, a concept introduced by doctor Robert J. Loizanmo that provides a clear, research based pathwow to ensure all students succeed. It's an approach that takes the idea of preventing failure in high stakes fields and then applies it directly to the educational environment. Where's your kid headed after high school? We are from carpool to college to accomplished educators, college and career consultants and parents who guide families through the entire journey from freshman year planning to senior year success. Subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. The core idea behind a high Reliability and Schools brainard is that a school can systematically prevent failure by implementing specific research based practices. This model, outlined and works like a handbook for high reliability schools, lays out five distinct levels of performance. That is a cheat. It's not about adding enough initiative, but rather organizing your existing efforts in the a cohesia impactful system. The goal is to create a culture of excellence and consistency that doesn't rely on a single poloic teacher or a leader, but a well designed, reliable system. The first level and the absolute foundation the framework is a safe and collaborative culture. This focuses on creating a school environment where students in staff feel secure and support both physically and emotion It's avout fostering a professional learning community where teachers work together analyze debt, and take collective responsibility for steam work. As doctor Morizano and his associates emphasize, you can't have a reliable school without a safe and collaborative culture. Moving on to the next level, the focus shifts to effective teaching in every classroom. This level is about ensuring quality instruction is happening consistently across the school. It involves establishing a common language or instruction, providing targeted professional development, and using observation feedback to help every teacher grow. Now the third level, it's all about a guaranteed and viable criculum. This means that every student, regardless of which classroom they are in, has access to the same essential content and skills. It also ensures that teachers have enough time to teach this curriculum effectively. So just think of a school that's struggling with significant achievements. They begin their HRS journey by focusing on level one, realizing that they first need to build a stronger, more trusting culture. The leadership team works with teachers to create and enforce clear norms for their part of their meetings, which will then lead to more productive and honest conversations. Then they implement a system or staff to provide a formal input on school operations, which makes everyone feel more invested. This shift in culture isn't just a feel good exercise. It's an essential first step that makes it possible to tackle the more complex work and curriculum and instruction la. The High Reliability Schools Framework gives us a powerful roadmap for continues and boot. It provides a clear step by step process for building a school where success for every student is the norm, not the exception. By focusing on creating less safe and collaborative environment, guaranteed effective teaching, and ensuring a consistent cricutum, we are building the very foundation of an exceptional school. It's about being proactive rather than lea and it's a commitment to ensuring that every student gets the best education possible. This week, reflect on one small step you can take to make your school a more reliable place for your students and staff. Thank you for listening. I hope you have a wonderful Monday.
