Stay to the end of the show for more information on our services. Now Here is your Morning Boost. Hello, welcome back to your Morning Boost. Adam Bush your host here, I thank you for joining us again today. This week we are talking about supporting our staff members and what is typically a kind of a hard time for a lot of people to try to get through these next few weeks as we have this jump between the Thanksgiving and the holidays at the end of the calendar year. Today we're going to focus on fostering some more collaborations support. Yesterday we talked about providing some feedback for teachers more individualized, and now we're going to talk a little bit more about this of a group effort and thinking about this from that group that can help everybody get through this part of the school year. So when we're talking about collaboration and support, really thank you about some collaborative problem solve Maybe this is a good time for us to focus on some of the goals and if we didn't already have some joint goals, might be a good opportunity to kind of think about some for the next few months, but certainly working collaboratively with teachers to set clear, achievable goals that shared goal setting process with you, or with their colleagues and their department or in their grade level. This can help boost motivation and it can also help boost ownerships we're all in this together type of attitude versus just my goals or your goals. It also might help a little bit with some workload management too. We can help prioritize some tasks with together and talk about how we're managing our time effectively, talk about some strategies and time management techniques, workload analysis, all of that great stuff that can happen when we put together a team of people that are all motivated to try to do the work together, maybe even delegate a few tasks. Within this, there's some stuff that unfortunately teachers get really isolated. We all do as educators. We get isolated, and sometimes we end up repeating tasks that somebody else has already done. We just need to try each other and be able to share and borrow and steal. Like all good educators do. And maybe this is a good opportunity for us to think about how we've allocated some resources within our building too. See where we're at with our budget right now. Maybe there's some things that we can try to help provide for some of our staff members and might get them over that hump. It could be instructional materials or technology or something that's going to help. Now is also a good time for us to recharge that school culture piece and that supportive school culture piece. Think about how our climate is right now and do we have a positive, inclusive school culture. Do our teachers feel valued, respected and appreciated. This is a great time for us to boost that give those opportunities for our teachers to re engage in that type of work. And we talk about it a lot. We talked about this a couple of weeks ago, but the focus on the work life balance. This is a good opportunity to remind us staff members when the day is over, go home. I know it's hard. We always have a lot of work and we always want to try to meet those deadlines, but there are times we just need to shut the computer, shut it off for a little bit and let us recharge think about how we're balancing that healthy work life balance and set some boundaries, prioritize some tasks and try to avoid that burnout that's going to naturally happen this time here. It's why we're talking about it this week. Area. We can also think about from school cultures that peer support. Try to intentionally facilitate some opportunities for some collaboration, maybe even outside of just the PLC time. If you have a pdday coming up and you've got some opportunities to just sit and chat for a little bit and just talk school, that's a great opportunity to get some get some peer support and peer collaboration. You know, it's a good time for mentoring opportunities, or you know, just informal social gatherings, a good time of year to just to reconnect with each other a little bit. And then don't forget about providing those counseling services. Remind people that those services are out there. A lot of school district school district that I lead, we have contracts with some counseling services that people can take advantage of. Remind people that these are these are out there for people and to try to help them get through it. Might be a case where tired of talking to mom or dad in this case for the principle, and maybe I do need to just go talk to somebody else. That's awesome, great, go do it. Help people get connected with those counseling services so they have an opportunity to chat about the things that they need to get some support on. Really, the goal here is just focusing on that collaboration and support. I mean, it helps with the positive school culture number one, but it also helps grow that positive school culture. School leaders, we can create an environment where teachers can thrive and students can succeed. It just it does take a little bit of time and effort on our part, and it also takes us relying on the strengths of our teams to be able to get there. Gup ideas for you to focus on today.
