Today, we're going to continue this topic that we've been talking about all week about supporting struggling teachers, and honestly, today's topic maybe should have been the topic we talked about on Monday and kind of the why why are we even doing this anyway? I mean, supporting struggling teachers. It's not just a moral obligation, it's a strategic imperative that it directly impacts the work and the overall health and success of our school. We have to invest in our educators and when we do so, it can certainly reap significant benefits. One of them that we're talking about is that why we're doing this is we want to certainly improve teacher retention. Turn Over at schools is common, unfortunately, and when we have big turnover years, we have a kind of a dip in our implementation. We have a dip in the work that we're trying to do. It's hard to continue to grow and we have a lot of new people. So as we talk about supporting staff members during this time of year, it's honestly helping without retention. A lot of people are kind of starting to think about the future when we get into the month of December and they start thinking about what next steps might be. Heck, jobs might already start be pop and open, and people might be starting to update some resumes. So it's a good opportunity for us to remind ourselves if we don't want turnover, if we want to keep our teachers with us, we need to focus on this right now. That supportive school culture and effective support systems within the school that can help reduce teacher turnover rates. That's proven. Research has shown us that this is a huge impact. People. Yeah, they want money, but the biggest pieces they want to they want to feel a sense of belonging at work. That stability that we can provide not only doesn't benefit our teachers, but it benefits our students. It provides consistent and instruction. It also provides strong relationships that can build with students and families. And each other with our colleagues. So kind of focusing on some of these areas to try to reduce turnover is a huge piece of this. And on top of that, of course, is to improving teacher morale. We want our teachers to feel valued, We want our teachers to feel supported. When they do so, they're moral improves and this is going to lead to an increased job satisfaction and therefore job commitment. Same thing with us, When we are motivated and we feel a sense of belonging, we're going to be better leaders, and that the same thing works for teachers because let's be honest, they're just educational leaders of students where we're educational leaders of teachers and students. So really focusing on those teacher attention piece is going to pay off in the long run. The other part of that is to think about how this type of work that we're doing and trying to support teachers also enhance the student achievement. We know that effective teachers there it's hard to be effective when you're struggling. It's really hard. In fact, it may be nearly impossible. Hoarding struggling teachers that will have an impact on improved teaching practices which will result in better student outcomes. It's going to help with a positive learning environment. It's going to help with a positive school culture overall. This is going to happen from supported teachers that it's going to create a conducive learning environment for students as well when they're supported. Students are supported, and we're going to see better results out of that, going to see increased student engagement. We're going to see engaged you know, engaged teachers is going to lead to engage students. That will result in higher levels of student achievement motivations. Why, every single teacher evaluation tool that I've ever seen in my lifetime talks about student engagement and the importance of student engagement. So a focus on that for us right now is going to be a positive that is going to have a positive impact as well. When we talk about school morale, we talk about a positive school culture. That is where our teachers feel valued, they feel empowered, and by doing so, it can boosts the overall school morale. It's going to increase collaboration. People are going to be less likely to shut off, they're going to engage more in that collaboration with as We know that's going to lead to an increase in innovation, it's going to lead to an increase in problem solving, and HiT's coin to it lead to an increase in student achievement. Research has proven that for us, we're going to see an impact in parental satisfaction too. When teachers are supported, they're better equipped to meet the needs of students and parents. That's going to lead to an increased parental satisfaction, which means it's going to lead to a decrease in our phone calls. All of that is a bonus for the school culture, and all of that is a bonus for school achievement. Certainly, none of this is is perfect, but the research has shown that there is a good reason to focus on this at this time of year. A few little steps here, a few little things there, it's going to go a long way. So taking that moment to kind of refocus on how we're supporting our teachers, it's going to pay off in the long run.
