If you have a spare minute today, please leave a rating and review on our podcast. We would really appreciate it. Today we are going to talk a little bit more about being visible. In a previous episode, we talked about being approachable, and today we're going to focus on another character trait. Being visible is such a It's a buzzword or phrase in our profession today, and I think many of us don't really realize what this actually means. Too often we get focused on physically being places instead, being a visible leader is doing the things that help inspire others within the team to reach their potential and to help the organization grow. Think about how transparent you are as a leader and how transparent your team is with you, Being open and being honest in what you do, say and believe will build trust within the team. We talk a lot about being vulnerable, and although vulnerability is an important part of transparency, we are really talking about being open to all options and ideas while communicating our honest opinions and desires. We just cannot build trust within our teams if we are withholding parts of the work. We are part of the team and we're helping to lead the team, and our honest input is needed. If we are stuck as a team, but all of our members, especially their leaders, are honest, one of three things will happen, and all of these three are acceptable. We will either help those that are not in the same wavelength understand the reason or reasons that we are moving in a certain direction, or we will realize that the team is doing the right thing and our point of view and our view of this issue needs to change and for good reason. Or we will all disagree and understand that this isn't the right time for this work, or that there is more that is needed to be done before we can move forward. Even in that last scenario, this is positive as we now know that we are just not ready to move forward with the work. I have a good friend that always says the right thing at the wrong time is the wrong thing, and it's so true. But being transparent throughout the process will only help our team understand where we are. It will only help us be more efficient in the future.
